SIG Professional Learning
SIG-PL has a number of efforts taking place this year to provide all of our members with more opportunities to learn and grow, and to help us support other teachers who are trying to incorporate technologies into their instruction and student learning. This year’s efforts include: offering the Action Research Award, offer webinars for profession learning, web resources to enhance teacher learning.
SIG Professional Learning supports educators involved in providing professional learning opportunities in the effective use of technology in teaching and learning.
2017 Summer Book Club
MACUL Conference 15-17, 2017 in Detroit!
SIGPL will present TWO Pre-Conference Sessions on March 15
Please join us for one of the following pre-conference sessions at the 2017 MACUL Conference!
- BREAKOUT EDU: BRINGING IMMERSIVE LEARNING TO STUDENTS
Come experience a Breakout! These immersive learning games present a challenge which result in participants learning teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and troubleshooting. Participants will experience a Breakout EDU game in action, then plan and create individual Breakout EDU games to take with you. There is an additional $30 workshop cost for your personal Breakout Box with starting materials
- SCRUM IN EDU
Students are not born knowing how to work together, and we rarely take the time to formally teach students the necessary skills. Creating a student-centered learning environment revolves around effective teamwork. Teachers will use Scrum, a framework for scaffolding teamwork, to understand team design, planning, and project execution. Leave prepared to implement this framework immediately with measurable results.
